Benny believes in wrapping everyone up in his warm Golden glow.
The incomparable team of Benny and Melissa has been visiting libraries, hospitals, nursing homes, the Orlando Department of Health, Leu Gardens during dog days, and most recently services held for Seminole County students (Winter Springs and Lyman High School). Benny especially enjoys the more active visits where he can walk around and meet people because he loves being outside.
Their favorite visit to date was at the Orlando Department of Health where Benny not only loved interacting with everyone but he loved receiving all of their attention. He began with his “Golden hug” between the legs – this gets most people down to his level – and then sat with one person almost the entire time. Melissa admits that she loves seeing the joy Benny brings to the employees, however briefly, knowing the positive impression their visit has on them.
When he’s not “on duty,” Benny loves lounging by the pool although he doesn’t like going in. He enjoys taking car rides and going shopping at such local stores as TJ Maxx, Lowes and PetSmart. An avid adventurer, he also likes exploring new areas and seeing new places.
Admittedly Melissa’s angel boy and endlessly endearing, Benny seldom barks. When he wants his family’s attention (usually for food), he’ll scratch at the refrigerator or the dishwasher. He’s also known to “snoot smoosh” doors shut and move chairs with his nose!
Unbeknownst to him, Benny’s family has already made plans for his upcoming birthday. They’ll be driving across the country to California where they’ll explore the mountains and National Parks. Next on this ambitious team’s agenda: getting their Canine Good Citizen (CGC) screening accomplished and becoming more involved with Advent Health.
