Sandy Kumpf

Sandy Kumpf

My name is Sandy Kumpf. I’ve been a member of member of GRRMF’s adoption support team for over 7 years now, when I moved away from my former job as a therapeutic horse-riding instructor and searched for similar opportunities to work close with animals.

My Journey:

After falling in love with one of my fosters but knowing our lifestyle was not the best for her, I was able to match her with a young couple who were getting married. This shy, young golden has thrived with them and was the flower girl at their wedding. They sent me a picture of her kissing the bride, paws right on her gown. No matter the work and commitment it takes to find these pups a forever home, it’s always worth it.

It’s not just the bonds we form between dogs and families; it’s the community we form with our fellow volunteers, even though we’ve never physically met. GRRMF is an amazing organization of dedicated people who never give up on the pups in our care and do everything to ensure they have a long and healthy life.

Advice for Potential Volunteers:

GRRMF has become my second family. Yes, you will be helping our dogs, but you are building friendships that will last a life time while doing very rewarding work.
