Hearts of Gold therapy team Darla and Chico never seem to stop. The two made an impressive 149 therapy visits in 2024 alone! Darla says it’s well worth it because you never know when even a few minutes of pet therapy can change a life.
At a hospice center, Darla and Chico went to visit a patient who was refusing to drink anything. Cute little Chico cuddled in and offered up some doggie love. 
After about 5 minutes the team left to cheer up others thinking nothing more of the visit. But that’s when the magic happened. Immediately after Chico’s visit, the gentleman asked for a glass of water and drank it. The patient’s daughter was thrilled. Darla says moments like these touch her heart.
