If happiness and playfulness had a definition, it would definitely be Poppy—a little dog whose big personality and love for squeaky toys have filled her home with joy.
Poppy came into the Rossburgs’ lives in 2024, through a phone call over Labor Day Weekend. She needed a foster home to stay in during the holiday, not knowing that this simple yet timely call would change her life—and the lives of her future parents. After months of being her hosts, the Rossburgs ended up becoming Poppy’s furever home.
Since then, Poppy has been inseparable from her family, creating cherished memories that include chasing lizards, tennis balls, going on lovely walks, and collecting a mountain of squeaky toys in her toy basket. But what she loves most in the world is the affection of her parents.
Poppy isn’t just an adorable pup—she’s also shown great strength and adaptability during tough times. She was described as a true champion during evacuations for Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton, enduring the storms and the uncertainty with resilience.
Currently, Poppy has completed basic obedience training, which has helped her improve her behavior and enjoy playing with her furry friends even more!
Her parents plan for Poppy to receive further training so she can gain the skills needed to visit nursing homes and share with others the same joy she has brought to their home.
