For GRRMF rescue pup Orion, his family knew that adopting him was the only option: They simply could not imagine Orion being with anyone else! And this love story between pup and humans has only become more heartwarming since Orion’s adoption, as evidenced by the way the family talks about this “goober” who has brought such joy to them.
Orion has learned, from his fur brother and sister, the important task of stalking the squirrels along the family’s back fence by the old oak tree. Although it took a while to perfect this skill, Orion is now all in, alerting anyone and everyone to intruders. This “stinker” also knows how to rile up his fur brother and get him in trouble. Either Orion will bark at the door like someone is there, just to start something, or he will come behind the couch and lap his tail against it wanting pets, which also gets his brother going.
Speaking of receiving pets and cuddles, Orion always wants more. If he feels he has been shortchanged, he will flop down with his whole-body weight and heave a big sigh, which is usually an effective ploy for getting even more love.
Orion has other strategies for getting what he wants! Like most golden retrievers, Orion cannot wait to jump into the pool and then never wants to leave. Orion will whine incessantly for additional opportunities for belly-flopping for balls when it appears that it is time to get out. Orion’s family took him to the Baldwin Park dog park once and could not get this boy out of the water!
If Orion must be out of the pool, then he will happily settle for one-on-walks, where his fur brother and sister are left at home and he gets all the attention. As his family notes, Orion really could go on walks forever and be perfectly happy. Such a good boy on a leash when he is by himself too!
How wonderful that this mischievous, perfectly adorable pup has found his perfect forever family!
