On adoption day, Lacy and Abby were excited to meet their new parents and eagerly jumped in the back of the car. Before their seatbelts had been secured, Lacy leapt into the front seat to sit on her father’s lap and snuggled against him while her mom drove home.
As much as Abby LOVES being wherever her parents are, and keeping them on task about treats after dinner, Lacy LOVES sweets. She may be finicky about her breakfast and dinner, but should she smell that someone’s eating a cookie or a slice of cake, she’s by their side in a flash.
Sweet, joyous and faithful, Abby always knows when someone is sick or needs encouragement and either rubs against them or lies down with them. Despite her age, she loves to play ball and walk, and when she’s tired, she lies down or turns toward home. While walking, though, she MUST stop at every lawn sprinkler and roll around in the wet grass!
Clever, funny and stubborn, Lacy adores walking adventures with her dad, exploring new neighborhoods and visiting the cows in a nearby field. In fact, when it’s been too long since their last adventure, she’ll take off with him for “the long walk” even after they’ve already walked with Abby and their mom!
The family’s only “vacation” so far was when they evacuated east to Vero Beach for Hurricane Milton. Their son was visiting at the time, so three adults, Lacy, Abby, and their feline brother, Tango stayed at the Staybridge Suites, which waived all pet fees and had fabulous “pet accommodations.” At one point, all six were closed inside a single bathroom for 15 minutes because of a tornado warning, and their mom sheepishly admits that Lacy and Abby handled it much better than she did.
