According to Abbey’s adoring mom, the most unforgettable part of adoption day was the overwhelming wave of love and gratitude they felt from Abbey the moment they met her. On the drive home, she gently placed her paw on her young human brother’s lap and kept it there as if to say, ‘Thank you.’ In that quiet, powerful moment, it felt as if she had always belonged with her new family: she was finally home.
A gentle soul, always happiest being with her family, Abbey loves playing ball and running around the backyard with her human brother, and then either lying in the grass while he rests his head on her or cozily curling up with him on the couch inside. What makes Abbey’s mom laugh, however, is that once they pet Abbey, they must commit or she’ll let them know about it! She gently uses “paw reminders” when they pause, and could remain where she is for hours receiving belly rubs and kisses. Then there’s her tendency to sneak into the yard when no one’s watching, heading for those mud puddles created by the hose and mischievously taking “mud baths to a whole new level.”
Kindhearted Abbey not only LOVES everyone, everyone instantly falls in love with her, and they can’t believe she was adopted from a rescue!
