Looking for a pint size golden but just can’t find one small enough to fit your lifestyle?  Consider this sweet boy who sports the golden look with a twist of cocker spaniel and soft, reddish velvet fur to cuddle up with.  Not only is he a snuggle bug, but he loves to cruise around in the car and enjoys being groomed too!

Silas came to GRRMF when his owner unfortunately passed away. He is learning to acclimate to new environments and totally digs being with his humans. If there is affection to be given, Silas will be first in line to receive his share. Although he may sound like a Velcro dog, he will show his confidence and independence when he feels safe and secure in his new home.  

Being a foodie, he is treat motivated and eager to please his humans; he has mastered many basic cues and is a quick learner. In his spare time, Silas enjoys squeaky toys, especially the fluffy squirrels.  Speaking of squirrels, Silas has signed up to be on the Squirrel Patrol, a special unit dedicated to chasing small critters, but only if you aren’t looking or allow it.  

This sweet boy is selective about the canine company he keeps, he would do best in a home where he can be king of the castle. He can adjust to other dogs if they are calm and properly introduced.  Silas prefers a nice walk with distance between other dogs that are strangers to him.  If frightened by their approach to him, he will warn them to back off.  Silas needs his beloved person to understand this fear and assist him in redirecting his attention to something positive and pleasurable.  

Silas is house trained, crate trained (but not a fan of it), hasn’t met any cats and would prefer to be with adults or adults with children 12 or older.  A loving boy who needs a loving family that will give him the time and attention he longs for.  So, if you are looking to downsize, Silas could be your guy! He would love to cuddle on the couch with you and watch a good movie any day of the week!
