According to Lily’s foster dad, “Rufus and Lily are so much fun!” As they’ve lost weight they both have become more active. Their walks are getting longer and both have great leash manners. They’ve learned the wait command and actually listen! Rufus and Lily will both calmly sit until the ok command has been given. Remember they are still seniors, so nap time is also important and they enjoy that as well. Rufus and Lily would be perfect companions for a family that enjoys strolls, gentle play time, and of course love and kisses!

Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Well, they haven’t met Lily then! This smarty pants is learning new commands and showing her fun-loving nature. Lily thinks the toy box is the coolest thing. She’ll rummage through the treasure chest of assorted chew toys, ropes, balls, and squeaky dolls looking for just the right one. A big fan of hard bones, Lily will also play fetch with a ball. As she’s lost some weight her walks are getting longer and will now run around the backyard a bit. Way to go Lily!
Lily & Rufus were living a happy life with their beloved owners. For 10 years they were doted on, played with, and cherished by a retired couple. Sadly, life is unpredictable and when the wife passed away, the husband could no longer care for their best friends. Heartbreakingly, he decided to let GRRMF find his favorite pair a second loving home.
As you can see, Lily is not a golden retriever, but she does have a golden heart. 
Sweet and cuddly to be sure, she has love to share with a new family. According to her foster dad, “Lily is a very sweet girl who really likes her belly rubs.” She also enjoys short walks and is friendly to everyone she meets – both 4 and 2 legged. Lily is a gentle soul and would be wonderful with children.
Lily doesn’t need a crate as she has perfect manners. Well past the puppy stage, Lily isn’t interested in rough housing, chasing squirrels, or digging up the yard. She is simply looking for a second loving home. One with people to who will give her plenty of belly rubs, take her on walks and shower her with affection.
Lily is bonded with her brother Rufus and this dynamic duo desires a happy home. If you’re looking for well mannered, calm, and loving best friends, these two are for you!
