Hi, my name is Iris! I was brought here to GRRMF in hopes of a new “leash” on life.
I am doing great in my foster home and I’m really enjoying my foster siblings, both dog and human! I like to chase my dog foster sibling around the yard and my human foster siblings have had their friends over and we all enjoy playing together. I LOVE going for walks and am working on walking in a straight line instead of orbiting my foster mom! I’m getting better at it every day. I enjoy being with my humans, particularly my foster mom, and I will move around during the day depending on where she is working. When someone is on the couch, I put my paws up by them to let them know I want chest rubs! It’s fun shredding stuffed toys and leaving the filling all over, although the humans might not appreciate this. My foster mom has also noticed that I spend time bird watching, and my dog foster sibling is trying to teach me how to chase squirrels!
I am doing my very best to be a good girl and I am working hard on my commands. My foster mom is teaching me sit, down, and stay (with the help of a lot of treats) and I am getting better! I am crate trained and will lie down on a bed in it when my humans are away. I am also working on potty training and letting my humans know when I need to go out. I am a little skittish about loud, sudden noises, and I don’t like the broom or vacuum. I tolerate baths, although towels scare me a bit. The puppy in me needs a little bit of extra patience and loving care, but once you get to know me, I am a very sweet and loving girl, and I will make a family very happy one day!
