Hi, my name is Harley! I was lovingly surrendered to GRRMF by my former owners when they found out that they couldn’t keep me in their apartment.
I was very eager to explore my new surroundings when I arrived in my foster home and was very playful with my new foster mom. She says that I slept very well in my crate the first night and was no trouble.
I am a very active dog and I love being outside! Running, playing fetch, and yes, digging in the dirt (I am a puppy!) are some of my favorite things. I also like being with my humans and want to know when they’re there while we’re at the dog park. Car rides with them are also extremely fun! Toys are also a favorite of mine, especially tennis balls and my dinosaur, and one day I aspire to break the Guinness World Record for having the most toys in my mouth at one time! Right now, I am currently up to two at a time. I’ll get there eventually!
Training is a work in progress for me, and my “puppyness” still comes through a lot. I know the sit command, and I just recently mastered paw and shake! I am still working on come, stay, give, and drop, but with consistent training and patience, I will learn them in time. Walking on a leash is also something I’m working on, and I am improving. My foster mom says that I am housebroken, although I have had a few accidents in the past. She also says that I am a very curious pup, and need to be crated even when alone for a short period. Otherwise, I get a little mouthy and will chew on things. This is something else that I’m working on and my foster mom uses redirection to distract me.
I am extremely excited to start my new life and continue learning and training to reach my full potential and be the best dog that I can be!
