Cheerful and charming, Coconut is happiest making others happy!
Coconut and Tara devote their time to visiting Senior Living Facilities and attending community events. Coconut especially enjoys children because they get on the floor with her and she can lie in their laps. She also enjoys the attention she receives from seniors, and thrives on bringing joy and comfort to those in facilities where they can’t have animals. Above all though, she loves helping anyone who’s going through a tough time, always senses who needs her the most, and is happy to linger for those extra pets.
One of Tara’s most memorable visits was the team’s first time at an elementary school reading program when Coconut fell asleep in a child’s lap! Tara also marvels at how Coconut’s energy matches that of her audience. After calmly visiting with seniors at Buena Vida Estates, she enthusiastically and exuberantly greets some of the young staff members in the lobby, who are squealing in delight and crouching down to pet the Therapy dogs.
When not doing Therapy visits, Coconut staunchly supports youth soccer, loves walks in the neighborhood, and chasing — and catching — her tail. As for her most endearing qualities? She always climbs in her mom’s lap if she sits on the floor. She loves every person and dog she meets. She’s always underfoot and she loves resting her head on her mom’s lap (she weighs 60 pounds with a head that weighs 59 pounds!).
