Ever so BIG in love, Boo brightens everyone’s days with his winning ways.
Boo and Cathy regularly visit Ronald McDonald House, The Gables and Windsor Assisted Living facilities and are being vetted to volunteer at HCA North Florida Hospital where they’ll comfort patients, staff and families waiting for their loved ones in surgery. They also visit Haven Hospice to comfort the staff and families of patients who are dying.
Boo loves his therapy visits and puts his whole heart into it. He had never been around children until they went to Ronald McDonald House. On their first day, two young children ran around and played tag with him and he LOVED it! Cathy, who once spent three months in an outpatient rehabilitation facility, knows firsthand how much a puppy’s hug can brighten your day. It’s therefore doubly meaningful to share Boo with others.
Boo loves to be loved and to play: with people and other animals. He even tried to get into a horse corral to play with the horses. The horses came to the fence and they nuzzled each other! He lives with his “brother” Bentley, an Aussie Shepherd/Border Collie mix and Casper the cat. While Boo and Bentley spend most of their time together and enjoy their daily neighborhood walks, his favorite is Casper. They snuggle and
sleep together and even groom each other. Casper ran away for 5 weeks a few years ago. When the family found him and brought him home, the first thing he did was curl up, safe and sound again, with Boo. Boo brings this same tender care to everyone he meets as a Therapy dog.
Boo loves playing with his toys and will bring them to his parents one at a time in order to play catch or tug-o-war with them. He also enjoys retrieving the ball from the pool, usually without going in himself. He scratches the water with his paw to have the ball come to him! Oddly enough, he prefers vegetables to meat, and loves broccoli stalks and the stems of Swiss chard.
Since Boo is such a cuddle bug, bringing love and affection wherever he goes, Cathy looks forward to even more opportunities to share that love with others.
