How We Use Donations and Why They’re Essential

Thank you for taking a moment to learn how your generous donations make a difference at GRRMF (Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid-Florida). Every dollar you contribute goes directly to helping dogs in need—because we are an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization with no physical facility to maintain.

Here’s how your support helps:

● Every surrendered dog is spayed or neutered unless health issue and on the advice of our trusted veterinary partners.

● All dogs receive a thorough medical and dental examination by one of our trusted veterinary partners.

● Each dog is microchipped and registered with GRRMF for life, with us listed as the primary contact to help ensure their continued safety

● Each dog is provided with a collar and GRRMF identification tag, as well as a harness to ensure secure and safe handling—whether on leash or off in a secure area.

● We cover the full cost of necessary medications, surgeries, behavioral training, and specialist referrals—whatever is needed to give our dogs the best chance at a happy, healthy life.

● All dogs are brought up to date on vaccinations with essential boosters.

● We treat common medical conditions such as skin and ear infections, hookworms, and heartworms.

● We address behavioral challenges like fearfulness, skittishness, and reactivity through patient, professional care.

● Only when a dog is both medically and behaviorally ready do we place them for adoption.

● We provide educational materials to every adoptive family, including tips on transitioning, training, nutrition, and safety. These resources are also freely available on our website.

● We proudly fund our Sanctuary program, which offers lifelong care to dogs who are too ill to be adopted. These special dogs live with dedicated foster families who provide the love and support they deserve.
