Welcome, Fall
There’s something that I’m sensing,
wafting through the air.
I raise my nose up high to sniff
crisper smells, cooler breezes there?
A boost of renewed energy
that makes me want to fetch and run.
A play bow and here we go
to catch footballs and have some fun!
When I dip in the pool
the water feels just a little bit cold.
I don’t mind – it feels good to me,
But my people? They’re not quite as bold!
Decorations on walks and in doorways,
pumpkins, chrysanthemums, scarecrows and leaves.
There’s just a cozy feeling all around
My people say, “It’s chilly,” loving to wear long sleeves.
It’s our Florida change of season,
this southern dog says – right, y’all?
Though not quite as brisk as the “up north” change,
we embrace it, still – you are so welcome, Fall!
