BT brightens everybody’s day simply by being BT!

This seasoned team visits libraries, retirement homes, colleges, group homes and schools, and attends special community events. Jan, however, is particularly partial to their college visits at exam time when the students are so understandably stressed. She watches them relax as they love on BT and smiles as BT readily returns their love.

Jan and BT especially enjoyed the special event in Lakeland attended by those supporting Honor Flight recipients. BT instinctively gravitated towards the older participants and leaned into them with his signature hug — pressing his body against their legs. Grateful for the small part the team played in this recognition of our veterans, Jan hoped it brought back many happy memories for them.

Admirably agile and athletic at home, BT adores all sports. His favorites are dock diving and disc dog. He also participates in FastCAT and recently completed Rally with his Advanced title.

Famous for being a “camera hound,” BT loves having his picture taken and will pose on cue if asked. Strangers often stop and laugh as he poses, although he does his best to look his most dignified. When on Fox 13 promoting Hearts of Gold this summer, he stared at the camera the entire time!

BT often acts as Jan’s “neutral” dog whenever she administers Canine Good Citizen (CGC) to new Hearts of Gold teams. Ever the professional, he knows his job and waits patiently for hours in his crate, relaxing until the moment he’s asked to perform.

With an eye on the future, Jan and BT look forward to attending more special events, including more GRRMF events.
