What made you step right into GRRMF to volunteer?
While volunteering with a local humane society event, I met GRRMF. At that time, a
group was formed called Operation Wrapping Paws (holiday gifts) with GRRMF as
one of the recipients and I have been with them ever since.

What is your most cherished volunteer moment?
“I transported a stray Golden Retriever that had been released to GRRMF. She was a sweet, beautiful girl that gave me kisses from the back seat. I noticed how badly she smelled, and it just kept getting stronger as we drove together. By the time we arrived, I figured out that someone had poured nail polish remover all over her, most likely thinking it was a way to get rid of fleas and ticks. I was so happy to have had a ‘paw’ in helping her get to GRRMF where she would never be abused or neglected again.”
Is there something about being a GRRMF volunteer that changed you?
The fact that so many people have no clue what a “rescue organization” does and
believe that only bad things happen to animals ‘somewhere else’.
What surprised you about volunteering for GRRMF?
Meeting so many people who have become such great friends – just by working a GRRMF booth at an event.
What’s your advice to a potential volunteer?
“What makes you happy? If you love dogs and want to make a difference, volunteer your time and efforts, GRRMF will find the perfect position for you.”
What touches your heart most about GRRMF?
GRRMF will go the extra mile to make sure the right dog is matched with the right family. When a new family shares their wonderful stories about their adopted furry member and how much they love them, we know we did it right.
