Tucker came to GRRMF when his owner was no longer able to take care of him. This adorable boy immediately stole our hearts, and he’ll steal yours too! He has the sweetest puppy dog eyes and an incredibly expressive face.
When Tucker first arrived at the rescue, he was in pretty rough shape. He had a severe skin infection and a painful ear infection. Thanks to the amazing care he has received from our veterinary partners and his fantastic foster mom, he is already doing well and getting better each day.
Tucker is a true “Velcro dog” and will follow you wherever you go. He loves to lay next to the bed or couch to stay close to you. At night, he’ll sleep comfortably on the floor beside the bed. When he hears your alarm in the morning he’ll gently rest his head on the bed to see if you’re awake, and will lay back down quietly if you decide to sleep in. But once you’re up, his tail starts wagging and he loves to get his morning petting!
This precious guy loves to go on walks, and his foster mom is working to improve his leash manners. Tucker didn’t know any commands when he arrived in his foster home, but he’s a smart student and learned the “sit” command in only a matter of minutes! He has great house manners and doesn’t try to steal food or chew on things he’s not supposed to. He enjoys riding in the car and will lay down calmly on the backseat. He also loves chasing a ball and is learning that he has to bring it back before you can throw it again.
He’s excellent at recognizing when it’s time for play and when it’s quiet time, and will settle down quickly in the house. He gets startled by loud or sudden noises or movements, but is gradually getting over this as he gains more confidence. He would do best in a quiet household with no children. He gets along well with other dogs and loves to play but would likely do best in a home where he is the only dog or where there is an older, calm dog for him to play with.
Tucker loves to get cuddles and affection, and he has so much love to give in return! Are you ready to open your heart to this sweet boy?
