Harper’s happiest when she’s making others happy!
Harper and mom Sue pay regular visits to several assisted living and memory care facilities as well as to a children’s library. Harper not only loves all of their visits, she loves seeing the other therapy dogs and loves the attention lavished on her by the facilities’ residents. But this sociable sweetheart’s favorite visits are those to the children’s library because she LOVES playing with the children.
Why, you may wonder? Because the children get down on the floor and play with her! Living in The Villages, Harper doesn’t have the opportunity to play with children very often.
When Harper’s at home, she loves going for golf cart rides — a daily activity for her now. She also loves going to the dog park where she can run, run and run until she’s utterly yet happily exhausted. Absolutely besotted with her older brother Tucker, she always has to be touching him when she’s sleeping, usually lying on top of him.
As for this dedicated team’s future: Sue hopes to visit more children’s places since Harper loves being with them so much. She would also like to see the initiation of a program where therapy teams visited dialysis patients and cancer patients whose chemo treatments are both long and dull, and who might welcome the distraction of a therapy dog.
