These may be early days for young Ellie, but her natural affinity for people is obvious. She and Charlotte are currently visiting one assisted-living facility, and its calm environment suits this energetic pup to a “t.”
Not only are the other Hearts of Gold dogs excellent role models for her, the residents there are both gentle and calm. On one such visit, Ellie’s empathetic nature especially endeared her to one elderly gentleman as she rested her head on his lap while he softly stroked her fur.
Proud mom Charlotte fondly recalls when 4-month-old Ellie spent time with a group of college students on the beach during their spring break. The experience was relaxed, positive and mutually rewarding for everyone. It also laid the foundation for teaching Ellie Therapy skills and really showed Charlotte her potential.
In Ellie’s spare time, she loves chasing crabs down the beach, walking with her parents, “catching” the splashes in the water and swimming in the pool. The way Ellie has bonded with Charlotte’s 2-year-old grandson melts her heart. But what makes her laugh? “She’s so silly chasing the splashes in the water, yet she won’t go after a ball.”
