Are you looking for a mature, sweet girl that loves to cuddle and be with her people? Maggie is that girl, she loves being with her human friends and follows them everywhere. She will make the song “Me and My Shadow” become a joyous tune about a dog who will share everything with you, and you will never feel blue or lonely with her at your side.
Maggie came to GRRMF after her owner could no longer provide for her. Maggie is very smart, playful, loves to please and be near her humans. She isn’t excessively needy, She will seek you out or lay in her bed. She mainly likes to be where the action is and will chill out, find a dog bed or get on the sofa and observe.
Maggie has nuclear sclerosis in both eyes and a cataract in the left, leaving her vision impaired and is hard of hearing, but not a problem as she is always by your side. Maggie is a senior, so as expected, she has arthritis in her hind legs.
When you aren’t snuggling with Maggie, she will be happy to roll over for a good belly rub, play a game of fetch, or tug of war. Car rides are a must, just watch out, she may try to drive! Maggie enjoys playing with her toys, is housebroken, trustworthy and doesn’t need to be crated. She will also come when called but that won’t be used often since she will be your co-pilot for life and wherever you go.
This special girl would prefer enjoying her golden years as the only dog and would relish being the queen of the house so that she could bask in all the attention of her adoring family. Maggie has not met any children in her foster home but her adoration for adults is clear- she’s a real people person! Like a Dr. Seuss book, she wants to be with her people -on the couch, on the bed, in the bathroom, in the kitchen – she might even try to fit into your oven mitten!
