Why Come to the Reunion?
To witness all the smiling faces both golden and human. Where else are you going to see so many Golden Retrievers in one place at one time to say nothing of the wonderful gathering of like minded people dedicated to rescuing a breed we have all come to know and love. When you come to the reunion, not only will you enjoy yourself, our volunteers get a huge motivational boost when they see the dogs they have worked so hard to rescue!
The theme of this years reunion is activities you can do with your dog.
Activities will include grooming and agility demonstrations as well as veterinarian seminars on when to take your dog to the vet and acupuncture for dogs. We will also have our traditional doggie games, the raffle, and our Golden Goods store.
Jeff Drier, a certified dog trainer from Bark Busters in Tampa, will present “Ask the Trainer” which includes a presentation followed by a question and answer session.
*** Please note that the CGC Testing has been cancelled ***
Jeff will also be administering the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) Test at the Reunion. The CGC test consists of 10 test items your dogs must successfully accomplish. Please see the AKC CGC test requirements for more details.
GRRMF Members wishing to have their dogs tested at the Reunion should register by January 31st. Only 15 dogs can be tested at the Reunion, so sign up as soon as possible. Please email email@example.com to register your dog. The cost will be $ 10.00 per dog.
Effective January 1, 2013, AKC has made Caine Good Citizen an AKC title designation. For more information, see AKC CGC title information on the AKA web site.
A PAL (Purebred Alternative Listing) Number can be issued to purebred dogs of AKC breeds with no papers. With a PAL Number, rescue and shelter dogs can compete / participate in AKC events such as agility, obedience trials, rally, tracking, etc. without having AKC papers. For more information, see AKC PAL Number information on the AKC web site.
Sgt Major BBQ will provide on-site catering for lunch at a very reasonable price. The menu includes pulled pork, hot dogs, italian sausage, potato chips, and soda.
