The 2014 GRRMF Reunion

Join us Saturday, February 22, 2014, at our annual picnic.

When: Saturday, February 22, 2014

Where: Lake Parker Park, 899 E. Robson Street, Lakeland, FL. 33805

Time: 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Who: GRRMF Adoptive families, members and supporters

Events: Click here to view the Reunion Program

Why Come to the Reunion?

To witness all the smiling faces both golden and human. Where else are you going to see so many Golden Retrievers in one place at one time to say nothing of the wonderful gathering of like-minded people dedicated to rescuing a breed we have all come to know and love? When you come to the reunion, not only will you enjoy yourself, our volunteers get a huge motivational boost when they
see the dogs they have worked so hard to rescue!

Activities
Activities will include:

  • DogLympic doggie games
  • A photo booth for you and your dog
  • A caricature artist
  • A kids' activity area
  • Our popular raffle drawing
  • A new silent auction drawing
  • ...and more!

We will also have allocated specific meeting places and times for the teams who want to network with each other as well as hear more about the overall organization and how your role is vital to the success of GRRMF.

Special Events
We have two special events this year which promise to be great fun as well as educational.

Shonna Bender, a certified Therapeutic Massage Therapist, GRRMF volunteer and adopter will share her knowledge of massage techniques through a wonderful demonstration that you can do interactively with your dog! Bring something comfortable for you and your dog to sit on to enjoy this demonstration.

Ann Waterbury, certified Dog Trainer, Behavioral Consultant and K9 Nose Work instructor will present information about an exciting new sport for our dogs as well as talk about training and behavioral challenges we all may face with our canine family members or foster dogs. She will also be happy to take questions during her session so here is a great opportunity for you and your dog to benefit from her expertise.

Food
Sgt Major BBQ will provide on-site catering for lunch at a very reasonable cash only price. The menu includes delicious pulled pork sandwiches plus sides and a cookie and drink!

How can you help make the reunion a success?
