2008 GRRMF Reunion Recap

      By all accounts, March 1 was a fabulous day as several hundred humans and their golden retrievers converged in Lakeland for GRRMF’s Annual Rescue Reunion.

       It was a beautiful, sunny day, and all enjoyed picnic fare, a grooming booth, raffle, the always-popular Doggie Olympics, costume contest and more. Special thanks to the Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club for staffing the grooming booth and making our rescues look like show dogs!

       This is one of the highlights of our year. We reconnect with former rescues and their proud human families, and we see firsthand the fruits of our labor, so to speak, as we watch the smiling faces and enjoy the wagging tails of dogs once sad now happy and healthy again. For our adopters and members, it’s a chance to meet others with a common interest … golden retrievers and the rescue cause. We’ve made some great friends at the reunions over the years.

       We thank all who participated, and very much look forward to next year.
