     Happy Beginnings for Our Alumni

Bianca & Snuggles

Bianca was 9 years old when one of the children in her family developed asthma and tested positive for an allergy to dogs. Snuggles was 14 when her family had to move out of the country for a job. Both of these girls were welcomed to the GRRMF family and we found a great home with the D family. It's sometimes a difficult adjustment, but the girls have been settling in and getting lots of love. Their new mom writes, "They are both SO sweet and we are totally in love with them. " Thanks for giving these senior girls a Happy Beginning!

Bianca & Sidney
Sydney

Sydney was 6 months old when our volunteers scrambled to get her in. She was unspayed and her owner was going to "release her outside" if there was no emergency pick up. Her new owners, the M family, think she is the best and recently wrote, "to tell you again how much we love our sweet Sidney girl!" It seems they've changed the spelling of her name to start her new life. She looks like she's enjoying her new human siblings!

Kala

We picked up Kala, age 7 (?), from her foster home in Orlando, and she adapted to our home immediately.  We can’t imagine how we were so lucky to be matched with this perfect girl.  We will never understand how anyone could have turned her in to the SPCA.  In 2 short months, she became certified as a therapy dog, and now makes regular visits for Space Coast Therapy Dogs.  She also passed Basic Obedience and received her Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Kala is a wonderful companion and a great traveler.  Because of her good behavior and sweet disposition, she is welcomed in many of the places of business we frequent.  She loves her toys, especially the tennis ball, and takes regular inventory of them.
We are thankful for  this treasure.  She makes us smile every day.

Nellie

Sweet Nellie and her sister Sammie came into rescue because they had become too much for their owner.  It was soon evident that the “too much” was just a need to be with people.  This worked to Nellie’s advantage. Ellen R. was looking for a dog that might be good as a pet therapy dog. And Nellie loves nothing better than having someone give her attention. Nellie has passed her Basic Training class and is now testing for Therapy Dogs International. Go Nellie!
