Tara June
Tara's Journey to Recovery

Tara is a very sweet and gentle 12 year old girl. She shouldn't have had to wander the streets alone, but now her time as a stray is over. Good Samaritans stepped in and now she is on her way to receiving the care and attention she has lacked for so long.
After the initial examination by our veterinarian, her physical condition was summed up as "A sad mess!" These pictures, taken when Tara was rescued, show the sores on her skin, weeping and painful with infection. It appears that Tara's quality of life has been very poor for a very long time.
Some of Tara's issues identified by our veterinarian:
Tara will require surgery and many medications to restore her health, as well as gentle loving care to restore her well being.
She begins her new life with bathing, creams, and antibiotics, which she will need to take for at least a week before doing any type of surgery. With this first step, Tara begins her journey on the road to recovery.
The medical attention and care Tara will require will be extensive, but we believe Tara deserves a chance at a better, pain free life.
Please consider becoming a one of Tara's guardian angels and donate to help her regain her health. She will be forever grateful to you for your help!
Tara has had her first surgery and is recovering. A good sized growth next to her eye was removed and a growth on her bottom lip was cauterized. Her skin is still horrible but is scabbing over instead of oozing. Her spirits are good and we look for her progress to continue. We will keep you posted. Tara and Golden Retriever Rescue of Mid Florida thank you for your continued support!
Tara is resting comfortably and on the mend.
Here is a recent picture showing her progress.
Tara's foster mom says she is the sweetest thing on four legs! In fact, whenever she calls Tara's name it is always preceded with "sweet, sweet" Tara.
Tara has been receiving care for the lesions on her body. Her foster mom reports some improvement in her coat but the lesions are being persistent. She still has a lot of bacteria so she's on another course of antibiotics and hopefully in another month the lesions will be cleared up. Tara has stopped limping - the vet couldn't find anything wrong with her leg. Her foster mom thinks now that she's in better shape Tara is moving around a lot better.
This gal has hit the lottery. She is in a wonderful foster home and being showered with love on a daily basis! How her life has turned around!
Tara still has a lot of healing to do, but she would like to thank all of her guardian angels for their continued love and support as she continues on her journey to recovery.
Tara is perky, loves her walks and always greets you with a stuffed animal. Tara's foster home reports that fuzz is coming in on her skin sores as they heal. The spots are still visible but soon they should be filled with fur.
Tara would like to thank all of her guardian angels for their love and support during her Journey to Recovery. Their assistance has helped make her recovery possible.
Would you like to open your heart to Tara? She would love to be in her new home before the Thanksgiving holiday.
