Sherman is a youngster who is about 10 – 12 months old. He’s got those pearly white teeth that young dogs have and sports a fur coat that’s almost as white. We’ve had him neutered and he has no health issues.

He’s a small boy of about 54 pounds who came to use when his family didn’t have time for him. Lucky for Sherman, we’ll make sure he has a home that has plenty of time for him! We’re looking for that special family that can take care of him and meet his needs of lots of love, attention, training and exercise.

Sherman is probably not a purebred golden retriever, but his personality sure is. He is as sweet as he can be and loves attention from humans. He’s not overly needy, but he prefers to be with you instead of being alone. He is just getting used to his crate and takes all his meals there. It won’t be long before he realizes that the crate is his safe haven. Sherman loves to chew on bones and will sometimes need to be reminded that those are the appropriate things to chew in the house. But he is making incredible progress in his foster home. He is competely housebroken and a calm, easy-going young boy.

Typical of a young male golden, Sherman has his share of silly moments. He loves to play with Nylabones by throwing them in the air and pouncing on them. His foster mom, Janice reports that Sherman is very smart and learns quickly. He wants to please his humans so he can have the reward he likes best: more loving attention.
Sherman rides well in the car and also loves being with other dogs. He is more submissive than assertive and will follow the lead of the other dogs. He would love to have a doggy brother or sister in his new home.
Requirements for Sherman’s adoption:
- Fenced yard, so he has space to run and play safely.
- Obedience classes to help him bond with his new owner and be a good canine citizen.
- A family who has time and energy to spend with him every day.
- A chance to play with canine buddies.
- Love and affection – and lots of it!
