This smiling face belongs to Shadow but, at only 48 pounds, Shadow really doesn’t cast much of one. What he does cast is a loving spirit that spreads far and wide. Shadow is probably between 4 and 5 years old, has beautiful red curly hair and one of the friendliest faces in canine kingdom. Shadow At only two months old Shadow developed a neurologic condition that causes him to have seizure like episodes but fortunately they are not life threatening. During one of these episodes Shadow remains conscious, alert and pain free but collapses and has tremors in his extremities. Traditional anti-seizure medications made the condition worse so Shadow is on two other medications that he must take every day. Those medications have greatly reduced the frequency of his episodes from daily to once every ten days or so.

It is very likely that exercise has also helped Shadow to overcome his susceptibility to his seizures. In his early years even limited exercise would seem to bring on an event but now he takes several walks a day and the more exercise he has become used to the fewer events he has had. Whichever family decides that Shadow will be a forever family member must keep these points of therapy in mind.

Shadow Shadow

Shadow is a real Velcro boy and while he gets along great with other dogs he is a human’s boy through and through. His commitment to his people is depthless; his human’s financial commitment to this special fellow won’t be quite that deep but will need to be a consideration for his medicine.

Shadow

Shadow is our boy with the little shadow but a giant heart. He is loving, committed, house trained and is a wonderful companion that endears everyone he meets. We love him and we think you will too.
