Brandy has a sad – but all too common – story to tell. After 12 years, she was taken to a shelter because her family ran into financial difficulties and was being evicted. Her chances of being adopted at a shelter were nil, so GRRMF sprung her out and welcomed her to our extended family, where she will always have a soft place to sleep and a good meal to enjoy. |
 |

As you might expect, Brandy is well-mannered, quiet and sweet. She knows not to jump on furniture or people, doesn’t counter surf, listens very well and is completely house trained. All Brandy wants is to be loved. It’s as simple as that. She is a true gem of a golden and will make some special person or family a wonderful companion.
She was not spayed, so we took care of that right away. She had a few fatty tumors that we tested, but since they are benign our veterinarian does not recommend removing them. |

Brandy loves going for walks or even runs, if you so desire. She has no problems in the mobility department and enjoys being active, but she’s also content to lie by your side if you feel like just hanging out in front of the TV. This is the beauty of adopting a senior – they are truly “wash and wear” – all you need to do is provide shelter, food and love, and they’re good to go. Brandy gets a little nervous around other dogs at first

Brandy deserves a forever home
just like the younger dogs

Brandy is not used to being around other dogs and gets a little nervous at first, which manifests itself as defensive posturing. But after a few minutes, she settles in and relaxes. She’s more of a people dog, so she doesn’t need the companionship of her own kind.
We’re hoping to find Brandy her very own forever home. We know that her advanced age might scare some people off. But we also feel that all dogs deserve a chance to live out the rest of their years loved and cared for – whether they are 2 … or 12. Won’t you consider welcoming Brandy into your heart?
