One look at this handsome face and your heart melts.  At a mere 15 years old, Beau is another dog who never got the memo that life is only for the young. He was an owner turn-in. Someone gave him up to us claiming that they “had no time” for him. That left us scratching our heads. How much time does a 15 year old dog take?

We soon found out. Not much! All he needed was a little TLC.  He had the worst teeth our vet had ever seen. His mouth was in pain and his breath could stop traffic. He had been shaved; that beautiful white coat had been chopped off leaving him with an odd look. But the golden personality was as strong as ever. A dental made him feel much better and the coat is coming back in.  He is a happy guy who just wants to be part of the pack.

Beau is content to have his head scratched and lay next to you on the floor (he scored a perfect 10 in the Velcro 101 class!) His tail never stops wagging. His first day in his foster home he went to an education event and just wowed the people who stopped by.

Understandably, he prefers soft food over kibble but at 15 years old, we think he deserves that consideration. And of course it does not stop him from eating his cookies, hard or soft. He is housebroken and is compatible with big dogs, little dogs and cats. He is the epitome of live and let live. And we think he deserves to finish out his life in dignity and with love.
